There are a headful of events coming up that I’ll attending as representation of the LGBT+ Community in Western Sydney. All of these events are free and I would love to see you there! Here’s what’s coming up this Pride Month in Western Sydney:
First, I’ll be at the Village Cafe at Robin Wiles Park, St Marys on Thursday the 16th of June, at 10am to represent local LGBT+ community! Hope to see you there over a coffee! We’ll talk mental health, LGBT+ changes happening in the community and my books!
Join me Tuesday, the 21st of June with Andrew Freeman hosted at WOTSO Penrith as we celebrate international yoga day by connecting mental health care with presence. I’ll be there mucking the poses up I’m sure!! Book here! Spaces limited!!
And here’s an event you can’t miss (recommended age 18+) The Joan’s Borland Lounge hosts some hilarious fun at Drag Bingo with Conchita Grande on the 24th of June at 5pm!
It sounds like the most hilarious bingo event in Western Sydney! Drag Bingo? Sign me up! I hear there’s prizes, gift packs and more. I love the warning The Joan gives, though:

At Penrith City Library, on Saturday the 25 June, 2022, at 10.30am-12.00pm, I’ll be discussing what it was like growing up LGBT+, finding the courage to write in their own voice and create characters that closely represent them. Writers will be invited to take part in a writing prompt, called Story Stones, to inspire positive writing habits and explore self-publication.

And to finish off for me for Pride Month 2022, I’ll be at Western Sydney Rainbow Connections’ Speaker Series on Monday 27th June, 2022, from 9.30am – 11.30am at The Joan Theatre (Borland Foyer).What’s the theme? ”Exploring Intersectionality – from Research to Practice!”
We will also be joined by WSRC Short Story 1st Prize Writing Competition Winner, Jenny Nguyen! I had the great pleasure of mentoring Jenny afterwards as their prize. (Yes, I was a prize to be won!) Jenny will be reading her winning entry and explore the complexities of intersectionality while living in Western Sydney.
Additionally, Anthony Brown, CEO at Health Consumers NSW will provide an engaging insight into intersectionalities and how workplaces can embark on a journey of genuine inclusion.
Let’s not forget morning tea! I’m bringing in some goodies and this is a perfect time to catch up with me and hear about all the wonderful things I’m doing!
